Dear Friends and Family,
I am Anita's older siser. I have been reading from time to time, but I just was not able to participate. I want to thank each of you for your prayers. I can NOT describe what it feels like to have lost such wonderful (and only) siblings in such a short period of time: Harry in 2001 and now Anita. 2 weeks after Anita's death, Harry's only daughter died suddenly. I know that God is able; I will need Him to carry me and my family through this part of our lives. I not only lost a sister, but my BEST friend.
The irony of her passing is that Anita and I had planned some special things involving my mother. Those things will go on, but her presence will be missed!!! Please keep me and my family in your prayers!!!

Mrs. Hankins, We are so sorry for your lost. If there is anything at all we can do for you, please don't hesitate to call us. I chose this poem "In My Pocket" because little Marcus always went for the pockets when Anita picked him up from Day Care. She always had a smile that was so pleasant. She was a good mother and a loving person. God Bless you and the family in your hour of bereavement.

To the Hankins family. May God Bless and keep you during this your time of bereavement. Anita was a great spirit to be around. We held each other up at Shaw- Speaks as we endured the pain of losing Marcus. Now it is our prayer that the same Comforter that provided us Peace then, be at your side during this special time.
I have known Anita since middle school and certainly this is a great loss for us all.

God Bless you all.

I know GOD don't make any mistakes and he sure blessed Anita for the life she spent. I can say to the family that she lived life to the fulliest and never taking her eyes off what was the most important to her.. ** FAMILY and FRIENDS**.
Anita, was that kind of sista who would brighten up your day with her unique giggle and that big grin she always carryed on her face.
She held a positive outlook on life.
Sista Girl, we all will miss you and when we look up to the skies and still be wondering WHY!!!
We all know that you will be looking down saying:
"GO ON AHEAD CHILD, I HAVE DONE MY JOB".
You was my very dear friend and I'll miss you to the end of my days. but to Anita's family and friends she will never be that far away....
With Love.. Your,hommie, and friend.

To the Hankins and Galloway family:

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Me and my family's thoughts are with you at this time of sorrow.

Ms. Hankins and Mike, you all will remember me as Donna Simpson, Sudie Powell's daughter. I will never forget how Mike and Anita were both there during the loss of my brother in 2002. I am sorry I can not be with you, but again you all are in my heart, thoughts and prayers.

I came to know Anita through her mother, Lethia, and remembered thinking that Lethia's children really loved her when they spoke of "Mom." They even had the same sparkle and wit. Let's rejoice in the life that Anita shared with us. There's only one Anita, and anyone who ever met her, will always remember just how special she was. Certainly she will be missed by all, but oh what a difference she made in the lives of those who shared the paths that she took!

I met Anita 5 years ago when I moved into my home across the street from where she resides. Anita was the first person to come over and introduce herself to me and welcome me into the neighborhood. Words cannot express how much her presence will be missed---mainly her smile/laughter and our conversations out in the yard or on the front porch. I am privaledged to have had her as a dear friend. She will be missed and always in my heart. My prayers and condolences to Micheal and Family.

I went to highschool with Anita and over the years we have remained in touch. She was instrumental in the success of our 20th reunion for highschool in 2002 and always had a warm smile and a big hug for anyone she came into contact with. I will miss not running into Anita when I am out as it always put a big smile on my face to spend a few minutes talking with her. My most sincere condolences to the family for your loss.
