Charlie and I grew up together from elementary school to high school.
We lived near each other and have always been childhood friends.
He was one of the best people you could ever meet. He was a down to earth good guy. We loved Charlie then and we love Charlie now. We will miss being around him and cutting up. I loved seeing him on his hunting and fishing adventures with David Whitman who would share pictures with us on facebook. Charlie, we are sorry you left us so soon.
Kay we are sending prayers and our hugs to you.
Love,

Charlie will be missed by many. I played soccer with Chuck in HS and continued our friendship thru Instagram and reunions. I looked forward to his fishing exploits since I’m 6 hours from coast and miss that. I pray for his family thru these times. We all loved Charlie. RIP Keeper!

Dear Kay and family.
I hate it that I missed the service today! I wanted to see you and the family and say my goodbyes to my dear friend, Charlie! I will never forget Charlie! What a gentleman, and someone that could make you smile by just being in the room! Our classmates have had some great times together at our class get togethers a few times a year, and made some wonderful memories! I am SO glad he was there in those memories and he will be there in spirit in the ones to come. Kay and family, again, my deepest condolences to you all, and you will remain in my thoughts and prayers for a long time to come.

Charlie was one of a kind. We worked many films together as well as many hunting and fishing trips. He made everyone feel as if they were his best friend and somehow found time to spend with all of us. We will all miss him forever. Rest in peace Charlie...

I worked with Kay for 20 years. I always looked forward to Mondays and hearing what Kay would have to say about what she and (Charlie) did over the past weekend and their many adventures. I never knew two people who enjoyed life and living as much as those two did together. Kay would tell the stories in such a way that would just make me laugh all day. Even though I only met (Charlie) a couple of times, I felt as though I knew him through Kay‘s eyes. After Charlie’s surgery six years ago, I grew to very much admire him and his zest for living. Instead of feeling sorry for himself, he continued to live his life to the very best of his ability. My condolences to Kay, and his family and friends. May God bless you all.

I met Charlie my sophomore year at UNCW. We clicked right away at the soccer field and as friends. He was laid back as can be, a true southern boy, friendly and very funny. He was also one of the best goalies I had the pleasure to play with and share amazing times going to play other schools in NC, SC, FL and MD. We will always remember Charlie for his signing in the bus and southern ways. I was lucky to have known him, and also to have talked to him 5 days before his surgery. As usual, Charlie did not show much concern and sounded as he always did, laid back and calm. I will miss you my friend and will always treasure our wonderful time at UNCW and your friendship. God bless you. Chichi
