Christopher Rouse Obituary

CHRISTOPHER HARRELL ROUSE Christopher "Chris" Harrell Rouse of Wilmington, N.C., age 49, passed away on June 25, 2013 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center after a courageous battle with ALS. His family was with him as he peacefully made his journey to his heavenly home. He is the son of Phyllis Harrell Rouse and the late C.C. Rouse of Kenansville, NC. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Judy Hill Rouse and two beautiful daughters, Hannah Jane Rouse and Christen Hailey Rouse. Also leaving behind, his sister Jane Rouse Woodruff and husband, Robert Howard Woodruff; and their two sons, Jonathan Rouse Woodruff and Justin Robert Woodruff of Windermere, Fl. Chris had many caring and loving uncles, aunts, and cousins, as well as life-long friends. Chris graduated from North Duplin High School and then continued his education receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, NC. He then received a Master's in Business Administration from Webster University in Myrtle Beach, SC. Chris continued his professional career in the financial industry working with many wonderful people over the years. As a devoted father, Chris preferred to spend his spare time with family activities. He was also a sports enthusiast and spent many hours perfecting his love for his two favorite sports of tennis and golf. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Warsaw United Methodist Church, NC with the service to immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be held at Devotional Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in memory of Chris Rouse to the ALS Association Jim "Catfish" Hunter Chapter, 4 N. Blount St. 2nd Floor, Raleigh, NC 27601. God never promised we would understand. He never promised we wouldn't hurt...hurt so very much. He did promise the miracle of eternal life and forever love. Chris' spirit lives with us. Let's watch for ways he still touches lives. I am so very sorry for your loss. Know that memories are ours forever and love never diminishes. I am so thankful I knew Chris.
