David Bourne Obituary

DAVID ARTHUR BOURNE

David Arthur Bourne, of Wilmington, died peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2009, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born August 17, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Benjamin Bourne and Elva Morris Bourne.

David graduated in 1964 from Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA. He spent most of his career in international banking having lived and worked in Sao Paulo, Brazil from 1966 to 1977. David and his wife Barbara moved to Wilmington in 1989.

Surviving is his wife, Barbara Bourne of Wilmington; children, Peter T. Bourne and wife, Peg Cozine-Bourne, of Wilmington, Benjamin T. Bourne and Shelly Newton of Wilmington, and D. Matthew Bourne and wife, Michelle, of Gray, ME; grandchildren, Benjamin Taylor Bourne, Peter T. Bourne Jr., Amanda Bourne, all of Wilmington, Olivia Bourne and Mchale Bourne both of Gray, ME; sister, Carol Skelly and husband, Edwin "Bud" Skelly of Old Saybrook, CT; niece and nephews, Brian Skelly of Atlanta, GA, Troy Loranger of Essex, VT, Tracy Loranger of Eastham, MA, and Maggie Fancy of Orleans, MA.

A Memorial Mass will be 11am Monday, June 22, 2009, at St. Mary Catholic Church, corner of 5th and Ann Streets, Wilmington. Burial will be on Cape Cod at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic School, 217 S. 4th St., Wilmington, NC 28401.
