DAVID FRANKLIN HAYES

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- David Franklin Hayes (Frank Hayes), 92, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, with his wife, Iris, and son, David by his side. He was the youngest son of James E. and Annie B. Hayes of Whiteville, N.C. where he grew up. He worked for Akers Motor Lines in Greensboro and Charlotte and in 1991 he and his wife, Iris retired to North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Frank enjoyed feeding and watching the birds in his back yard, picking fresh fruit and vegetables to share with family and friends, and generally enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

Frank was preceded in death by a daughter Leanne; brothers: Robert and James Hayes; sisters: Gladys Turner and Ethel Simons.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Iris Parrish Hayes of North Myrtle Beach, S.C. and his son, David Hayes of Wilmington, N.C.

The family would like to give a special thanks to InCare Home Health & Hospice, and especially to Hospice nurse, Trish Kreutziger and Hospice aid, Brenda Vereen for their devoted care.

Graveside Service will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Whiteville Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Wallace officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to, In Care Home Health & Hospice, 4685 Highway 17 South Bypass, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina 29577 or Alzheimer's Association, 1105 45th Avenue Suite 109, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina 29577.
