David Richardson Obituary

DAVID LEE RICHARDSON, JR. David Lee Richardson, Jr. 49, passed away on February 15, 2018 at the home of his loving friends, the Arthur Glen Thompson family of Whiteville, NC. Mr. Richardson died surrounded by family and friends following a short but courageous battle against an aggressive recurrence of cancer. Mr. Richardson was born in Chapel Hill, NC on May 12, 1968. He was proudly independent and handled difficult circumstances with a sense of calm and peace that also defined his career as a medical first responder in Bladen, Pender and Brunswick Counties. He spent most of his youth in Lumberton, NC and most recently resided in Shallotte, NC. Mr. Richardson is remembered as compassionate and loyal. His serious demeanor belied a keen sense of humor and a deep love of family and friends. He was a lifelong, avid outdoorsman who was happiest sharing special times with friends while hunting or fishing. He cherished his friendships with his "brother" Art Thompson and with Mary Jo Daniels, their families, and his work family at Pender EMS and Fire. He is survived by his mother, Patsy McKeithan Weber of Leland, NC and sisters Audren (Shane) Richardson Ford of Leland, NC and Neilee Weber, of Wilmington, NC; and his loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Richardson is also survived by step mother Sylvia Richardson of Lumberton, NC and step brother Christopher Brisson of Dublin, NC. Mr. Richardson was predeceased by his father, Dr. David Lee Richardson, Sr. of Lumberton and step father Neil David Weber, Esq., of Leland, NC. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, February 19th at 2:00 pm at Haw Bluff Baptist Church, 1433 Haw Bluff Rd., Ivanhoe, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Pender EMS and Fire, 805 Ridgewood Ave., Burgaw, NC 28425, in Mr. Richardson's name: www.penderemsandfire.com A guest register is available at inmanwardfunerahome.com. sad that you have lost someone from family meant lot to you.
