Edgar "Eddie" Clayton Baker, Jr., February 24, 1950-November 24, 2017, 67, of Wilmington, died Friday, November 24, 2017, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born February 24, 1950, in Durham, NC to the late Edgar C. Baker, Sr. and Elsie Mae Scearce Baker. Eddie was a long time resident of Wilmington and the owner of Professional Carpet Maintenance. He was fun loving and loved life. Eddie enjoyed metal detecting, shagging and DJing. He was a Hall of Fame member of The Cape Fear Shag Club and a member of The Association of Beach and Shag Club DJs. To Eddie, nobody was a stranger. He had a strong Christian faith. Eddie was a devoted and beloved father and grandfather. He was THE "Pater Familias". To Eddie, family was everything and to his family he was everything. Survivors include his daughters, Sandi "Sam" Baker and Sherri Baker; grandchildren, Taryn, Jacob, Isabel, Jamie and Gillian; great-grandchildren, Lilly and Ryker; sister, Patricia Daniel (Wayne); and his girlfriend, Rose Davis. Funeral services will be held at Masonboro Baptist Church, 1501Beasley Rd, Wilmington, on Wednesday, November 29th with visitation at 1pm and services at 2 pm.
