Esther Brown Obituary
Wilmington - Esther Dove Brown passed away on March 2, 2021 in Wilmington, NC. She was born in Bladen County (Bladenboro) N.C. to the late, Theodore and Rena Dove.
Esther's greatest joy was spending time with "the best family anyone could ever ask for" by taking her family, and sometimes her sister Lois, on vacations of their choice. These vacations included Hawaii, Las Vegas, Clear Creek Ranch, and every year a week at Kure Beach, NC. She loved to golf, fish, and play games, especially bridge.
Surviving are her daughters, Gaye Moon and husband Joe & Lynn Hillenbrand and husband Chuck all of Wilmington, NC. Son, Herbie Brown and wife Monica of Tucson, AZ, grandchildren, Bill McClanahan and wife Reed, Madeline Hillenbrand, Rain Brown, Ashleigh and Kris Moon, great-grandchildren, Cameron and Cooper McClanahan, Ethan Moon, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Herbert H. Brown (USMC Retired), brothers, Myrl Dove (killed in Korea), T.J. Dove (Jo) (US Army Retired) and Charles Dove (Peggy), sister & best friend, Lois Bibb (Freeman).
Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, March 9,2021 at Sea Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 17750 Hwy 17 N Hampstead, NC, 28443.

My deepest sympathies When Mrs. Brown stopped by the bank, she and I spent a lot of time discussing life events and her family ... and did she love to talk about her family? She was most proud of each of you! Eventually we would get around to discuss whatever financial matter brought her into the bank. I always knew I was in for a great time and a few laughs when she would stop by my office to chat. Your Mom/Grandmother was a wonderful woman, she kept things "real" and I know she will be missed by many. Thank you Lynn for informing me of her passing. I'm keeping the family in prayer during this sad time in your lives. Sending hugs to Gaye and Lynn.

Ms. Esther was my mom's "BFF" for almost 60 years and she was such a wonderful friend and "aunt" to our family. Thank you Aunt Esther for your love and kindness. My condolences to all of you.
