Helen Beggs Obituary

Helen Beggs, 88, of Wilmington, died Thursday, August 16, 2007, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 9, 1919, in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Gary and Eugenia Todd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Colonel Murray Beggs.
Mrs. Beggs was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Wilmington where she made many dear friends through the years. She was a real Christian lady in every sense of the word. Everyone whose life she touched loved her. She was devoted to her family and spent her life caring for them. She will be greatly missed. Mrs. Beggs was a former member of the Cape Fear Garden Club and Sorosis Woman's Club.
Surviving are her son, Gary Beggs and wife, Dr. Sally Moore Beggs of Carolina Beach; her daughter, Jean Christmus and husband, Tom of Columbia, SC; her grandchildren, Deborah Frye and husband, Ken, and Patricia Cobb and husband, Chad all of Irmo, SC; one great-grandchild, Kylee Frye; and special cousins, Glenn Petersen, Aline Hartis, Jack Hufham, and Dr. Ernest Burriss.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2007, Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1985 Eastwood Road, Wilmington, NC 28403.
