HOWARD LEE RIVENBARK Obituary

Howard Lee Rivenbark, 85, of Wilmington, died Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Cypress Pointe Rehabilitation and Health Care Centre.
Mr. Rivenbark was born in Teachey, N.C., on October 28, 1922, the son of Charles Vaden and Laura Norris Rivenbark.
A graduate of Wake Forest University, he was a retired special education teacher in the Duplin County Public Schools.
During World War II, he proudly served in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of Teachey Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Caroline Turner Rivenbark of the home; his daughters, Stephanie Ann Rivenbark of Hampstead; and Celia Rivenbark Whisnant (Scott) of Wilmington; and granddaughter Sophie Caroline Whisnant; several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by one sister, Laura Gray Moore of Harrells.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 4, at Andrews Mortuary, Market Street Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Bob Bauman. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. The family would like to express its appreciation to the staff members at Cypress Pointe for their compassionate care. Gratitude is also extended to physicians and staffs at Cape Fear and New Hanover hospitals, county paramedics and the caring staff at Elderhaus Adult Day Care Center.
