JIMMY PRICE Obituary

JIMMY DALE PRICE

Jimmy Dale Price, age 63, of Wilmington died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born February 26, 1949, in Whiteville and was the son of the late Chesley James and Lucille Sasser Price.

Surviving are his loving wife, Peggy Barrett Price of the home; daughter, Rebecca Susan Price of Wilmington; brother, Herman Price (Tammy) of Whiteville; and sisters, Shirley Settlemyre (William) of Whiteville and Windy Wells (Joseph) of Reston, VA.

Mr. Price served his country honorably in the US Navy. Working as a NC State Park Ranger and later as a NHC Animal Control Officer, he retired after being diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He was a devoted member of Save Our Kids Outreach, a Christian puppet ministry, and Northside Baptist Church.

Jimmy was the BEST husband, daddy, brother and friend anyone could ask for. He was a quiet, gentle, shy man who lived his life as an ambassador for Christ. As a Christian, he not only talked the talk with his puppet Christian ministry, but walked the walk with Jesus Christ as his guide. Jimmy loved the outdoors where he spent time in thought and prayer about any decision in life he needed to make. Jimmy's hobbies included his love of photography and NASCAR racing. He was blessed with a love for the Lord and a faith that took him through an extended illness. Jimmy's family is grateful to God for his life and for every kindness shown ... prayers, visits, cards and all expressions of concern. We thank God, our Heavenly Father, for the gift of friends and pray His eternal blessings to all.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Northside Baptist Church with Pastor Kenny Chinn officiating. Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Bradley Creek Chapel.

Memorial gifts may be given to Save Our Kids Outreach, PO Box 12173, Wilmington, NC 28405 (www.soko.org).
