John Gilbert Obituary

JOHN RICHARD GILBERT John Richard Gilbert, 69, of Wilmington, North Carolina, died on Sunday, November 24, 2013, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter. Jack was a wonderful man who loved to spend time with his wife, Patricia, and his family. He loved traveling, watching sports on TV, and playing with his cat, Sassy. He was a great salesman of all things. He is loved by family and friends alike. He will be missed by all that have met him. God has truly acquired a special angel by his side. Jack was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on April 5, 1944, to the predeceased parents, Jack Gilbert and Dorothy Lynch Gilbert. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patricia Gilbert; sons, Joseph J. Gilbert, Brian Gilbert, and John Gilbert, Jr.; six beautiful grandchildren; his sisters, Mrs. Virginia Campbell and Mrs. Joy DaCosta; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rather than a funeral service, Andrews Mortuary and Crematory on 4108 S. College Rd., Wilmington, NC 28412, is cremating his body as his spirit has gone home. A celebration of his life will be held 2pm Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Andrews Valley Chapel. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 1pm until the service hour.
