Kathleen Lubbers Obituary

KATHLEEN JUSTICE LUBBERS Kathleen Justice Lubbers, 71, of Wilmington, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016 at her home. She was born on November 24, 1944 in Bryn Mawr, PA, the youngest of four daughters, to the late George Lewis Justice and Ann Leisenring Stilwell. She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Lubbers, seven children: Patricia Beauchemin (Richard) of Charlotte, NC; Barnard Megargee (Nancy) of Charlotte, NC; Gail O'Halloran (Steve) of Wilmington, DE; Michael Megargee of Rockville, MD; Meg Niemerski (Michael) of Marne, MI; Susan Cloud (Steve) of Alexandria, VA; Josh Lubbers (Erica) of Framingham, MA; three sisters: Margaret Scholl (Don) of West Chester, PA; Gail Coppola of West Chester, PA; Ann Buchanan of San Diego, CA and 14 grandchildren. She was an active member of St. Andrew's Covenant Presbyterian Church and volunteered her time for multiple organizations including the Assistance League's Educational Puppet Project. For St. Andrew's she coordinated the Second Helpings Ministry at Good Shepherd House. Few things gave her greater pleasure than playing tennis and golf at Porter's Neck with friends and family. Affectionately known as "Bee" to her loving family, Kathy was an incredible ray of light and joy to all who knew her. Her infectious smile gladdened all. As a grandmother she made each child feel special. Her love was unparalleled. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 13th at St. Andrew's Covenant Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kathy's name to St. Andrew's. Condolences to the family at www.andrewsmortuary.com Andrews Market Street Chapel

I met Kathy 25 years ago at my family business. She was one of those people you do not forget once you meet. She was a beautiful person with a smile to match. I considered her a friend, not a customer and always looked forward to her visits with Ann Haughn .My deepest sympathy to her family who bought her so much joy.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
