Kennith Lindsey Obituary

KENNITH LEE LINDSEY Kennith Lee Lindsey was born in Alabama on July 28th 1940 to John Edward and Vivian Putnam Lindsey. He was raised in East Tennessee and after graduating served in the Army and was stationed in Fort Lewis. After Ken served his country he started his career with DuPont. He was integral part of plant start-ups and manufacturing along the U.S. south east coast and worldwide in India, Turkey, and China and continued consulting after retirement. Nothing tickled him more than being surrounded by his "Baby doll" Brenda, his children Kendra, Erika, Danny, Meredith and their spouses, Steve, Bob, Michele, and Sal and his grand children Jared, Lexi, Jackson, Jordan, and Asher, and his faithful furry four legged companion Winston. Ken enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his extended family, friends, golfing and was the life of any gathering, charming and entertaining everyone with his stories, tall tales, serenades and big hugs. He will be forever missed but he could never be forgotten by those whose lives he touched. Although the extent of his illness was brief his wife and family were deeply touched by the overwhelming acts of kindness, support and love shown to them during this trying time. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the medical staff on the 10th floor, guided by Drs. Warhaftig, Kotz, Caldwell, and Courtright. A celebration of Ken's life will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2013 at 3:00pm at Harbor United Methodist Church. As would have been Ken's request for this celebration, golf shirts are suggested. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Cancer Society-directed to "Hepatocellular Carcinoma Research", Harbor United Methodist Church or the Lower Cape Fear Hospice. Brenda, Steve Tiggle called me and told me the sad news. Jeannie and I want you to know that we loved Ken and will miss him so much. So we know what he meant to you and Danny and Ericka. We traveled together for almost 20 years, so he was like a brother for me. I could always depend on him for support. He will be missed by all that came in contact with him. God Bless you all.

From one old DuPonter to another, I had no idea other than runnning into Ken at the Medical Mall a few months ago. We swapped a few war stories, never really asking each other what we were doing there. I suppose it was understood that we were there for the same reason. I am so sorry for your loss and know that Ken was an earth mover of biblical proportions and we all loved him. Harry P

Brenda and family. Tommy and I are so sorry to hear about Ken. He was a "special" guy. I always love his big hugs too. I will never forget him bringing me a bell and other things from China. Actually I have kept them in a special place and the bell in my curio all these years. I went and got it all out and looked at it today and I remember when he gave them to me. You and your family are special to us and lots of memories. Praying "GOD" will be with each one of you and give you peace.
