Mark Hoernlein Obituary

Mark Hoernlein of Woodstock, Georgia, formerly of New Jersey, passed away on December 13, 2016 at the age of 64.

Mark was a strong individual with unshakable beliefs. Although he could be tough with some, he truly had a big heart, especially for his grandchildren. He was always looking to do for others – no one ever had to ask, he would manage to find a way to be there for anybody.

Mark enjoyed being a "D.I.Y.er" and a self taught mechanic. He remodeled his home in New Jersey quite a few times for his family and enjoyed repairing his daughter's vehicle when given the opportunity.

He had served as a volunteer firefighter for 30 years in New Jersey while working for Coca Cola. He was eventually relocated to the Metro-Atlanta area in 2006. Mark went to work with a joyful heart and enjoyed spending time with his Coca Cola family and collecting memorabilia.

Mark is survived by his wife, Susan Kapusta Hoernlein; daughter, Lisa Hoernlein Prewett and her husband, Fred; grandchildren, Mark and Alexia Prewett; brothers, Gary Hoernlein and his wife, Elsa, and Gene Hoernlein and his wife, Judy; and many nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Woodstock Funeral Home in Woodstock, Georgia. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 pm with Pastor Vic Bledsoe officiating.

Please wear your favorite Coca Cola articles to help celebrate Mark's life with his family and share your favorite memory of him with them.

When I first met Mark at that BK in New Jersey 15+ years ago, back when we were both technicians For Coke NY, I had no idea that our paths would cross over and over again and we would become friends and one day work together again for Coke here in Georgia. In that time, I came to know that Mark and I shared three great loves: the volunteer fire service, Coca-Cola and our families. Mark was a good friend, always willing to help anyone out and totally dedicated to serving the Company and trademark that he was so proud of. Above all, Mark loved his family and I know that there was nothing more important to him than his family and they motivated him to go out and do what he did every day. Mark made a difference in this world and he will be greatly missed by all, and by me.

The Pictures of Mark are great. I will miss talking to Mark as he served his customers. The man knew his stuff. He took pride in doing things right. R.I.P. buddy. Never forget all the times and situations we worked on the Freestyle Machine.
