PAUL SLATER Obituary

PAUL M. SLATER Paul M. Slater, 86, of Hampstead, died Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Davis Health Care. He was born October 7, 1927, in Greensburg, PA, to the late Milton Slater and Florence McDowell Slater. Paul proudly served in the US Army. After retiring from General Electric, he then spent another 15 years working for the US Postal Service. He was a 35 year member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, currently with Flotilla #10-09 in Hampstead, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Rapalis Slater. Survivors include his daughter, Amy Slater McHugh (Fritz) of Seaside Park, NJ; son, Paul M. Slater, Jr. of Naples, FL ; sisters, June E. Kaefer of Venice, FL and Emaruth Kifer (Larry) of Irwin, PA, and longtime companion Joyce Blizzard of Topsail Beach. A memorial service and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Sea Lawn Memorial Park, Hampstead. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's name to Disabled American Veterans. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.andrewsmortuary.com Andrews Hampstead Chapel Service
