Robert Franklin "Bob" Renegar Sr.

ROBERT "BOB" FRANKLIN RENEGAR, SR. Robert "Bob" Franklin Renegar, Sr., 78, of Wilmington, passed away May 16, 2015, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born in Yadkin County, NC, on June 29, 1936, to the late Arthur and Cora Mabe Renegar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gray Renegar and Fred Renegar. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jeanie Renegar; sons, Robert "Bobby" Franklin Renegar, Jr. and wife Jennifer Futch and Patrick "Patch" Allison and wife Jennifer Guidice; grandchildren, John, Allison, Jackson and Nathan Renegar; sister, Peggy Allgood of Cary, NC; sister-in-law, Avonell Renegar of Fayetteville, NC and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob began his engineering career with Western Electric in Winston-Salem, NC in 1958. He then moved to Bell Labs in Greensboro, NC in 1962. He worked on special assignment with White Sands Missile Range, White Sands, New Mexico. Bob moved to Wilmington in 1966 with Southern Bell where he would retire after 37 years with Bellsouth. He recommenced employment with TELICS Telecommunications & Industrial Consulting Services Corporation, for another 10 years, before finally retiring again. Memorial services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Pine Valley Baptist Church, where Bob was a member, Trustee and Deacon. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1pm.
