ROGER KENNETH BUSTEED Roger Kenneth Busteed, 47, of Winnabow, N.C. passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 following a tragic accident. He was the youngest child of Kenneth T Busteed of Wilmington, N.C. and Linda Grant Busteed, also of Wilmington, who predeceased him. Roger is a graduate of Vermont Academy in Saxtons River, Vt. and attended Roger Williams College in Bristol, R.I. Roger has spent most of his working life in the hospitality industry. It began in Vermont where his family owned and operated a country inn. Over the ensuing years he has held a variety of positions, with increasing responsibility in restaurants and/or hotels in New Orleans, Winston-Salem, Martha's Vineyard, Portland, Maine, Bald Head Island, N.C., and most recently Wrightsville Beach,N.C., where he was the Food & Beverage Director at the Blockade Runner. Roger is survived by his beloved wife Teal of 14 years and his 6 year old son, Fletcher, his father Kenneth T. Busteed of Wilmington, 2 brothers, Larry of Coventry, R.I. and wife Kim, Warren of New Harbor, Maine and wife Beth, mother-in-law Patricia Thayer of Woodsville, N.H., father-in-law Kenneth E. Sabin Jr., of Benton, N.H., step mother-in-law Michelle Sabin of Southport, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Roger enjoyed beach time with his son, family, and friends, golfing, music, especially Bob Dylan, and was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan. He was passionate about social responsibility and had a core belief in helping others. A memorial service will be held at the Blockade Runner on Monday September 15, 2014 @4pm . A celebration of life will be held at a later date in New England.
