Stephen Fry Obituary

STEPHEN "STEVE" C. FRY Steve Fry, 40, of Cary died August 22, 2018 in the MICU at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. He was the son of Mary C. and Robert "Bob" Fry of Wilmington. Besides his parents he is survived by his wife, Amanda V. Fry of Cary and three wonderful felines (Fenway, Bear and Tucker). His paternal grandmother, Phyllis L. Fry, lives in Pennsylvania along with uncle Stephen A. Fry and wife Barbara, uncle James M. Fry and wife Brenda, and aunt Mary Ellen Fry along with Cindy and Lori Fry. Family members living in North Carolina are Brenda "Bobbie" Cameron and Brucie Arrant and her husband Frank, cousin Penny and Steve Perry and their sons, Scott and Ryan. Steve graduated from E. A. Laney High School in Wilmington where he served as Chaplain of the Band and played on the school golf team. He attended NC State and then worked in a number of positions before finally working for JDS Consulting and Design as Project Manager and Senior Field Technician. He loved to play golf, fish, working in his yard and being together with family and friends. His life ended unexpectedly but by God's grace he did not suffer at the end. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Wake Med Cary and the courageous efforts of the MICU medical staff at UNC Hospitals. A Celebration of Stephen's Life will be held on Saturday, August 25 at 1:00 pm at Winter Park Presbyterian Church, 4501 Wrightsville Avenue, Wilmington, NC 28403. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made in Steve's name to Winter Park Presbyterian Church, 4501 Wrightsville Ave., Wilmington, NC 28403 or The Raleigh Rescue Mission, P. O. Box 27391, Raleigh, NC 27611. A visitation will be held in Raleigh on Sunday, August 26 at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, 27604 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm so that friends can visit and share memories about their times with Stephen.
