JAMES "BILLY" BRAMBLE

On Friday, September 14, 2012 Billy passed away peacefully at home with his family. The only son of Rena West and Grover Cleveland Bramble, he was born on January 8, 1926 in Atkinson, NC. Billy is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Melva Bramble Chase.

Billy was a lifelong member of Caswell Presbyterian Church of Atkinson and served as Elder, Superintendent and a Sunday School Teacher. He was a 32nd degree Mason at the 612 A. F. and A. M. Mason of Atkinson. He served in the Army and was stationed in Japan. Billy was an active member at the Woodmen of the World Lodge 244 for over fifty years.

Billy leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, Lucille Squires Bramble and four children; James Michael Bramble and wife Ann of New Bern; Cynthia Bramble Carlton and husband Gene of Warsaw; William Gary Bramble and wife Gail of Oak Island and Victoria Bramble Bergstedt and husband Bob of Winterville. He has nine grandchildren and one great grandchild and his sister Alice Bramble Henry of Burgaw.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Caswell Presbyterian Church of Atkinson. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow in Squires Cemetery in Kelly.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice or the Church of one's choice. The family thanks Lower Cape Fear Hospice for their wonderful care of Billy during his illness.
