Marlene Warnell Obituary

Marlene M. (Mertel) Warnell, 66, of LaSalle, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024 at her home.

Private services will be held. Burial will take place in St. Vincent's Cemetery, LaSalle. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller-Pagani Funeral Home, LaSalle.

Mrs. Warnell was born April 1, 1958 in Spring Valley to James J. and Ida (Daley) Mertel. She was a graduate of Illinois Valley Community College. She married Robert Warnell on April 4, 1987 at St. Valentine's Church, Peru.

Mrs. Warnell was co-owner of the Lostant Hatchery and Milling Company, Inc. where she worked for 37 years. Her greatest joys were taking care of others, playing cards, cooking and baking, and keeping a clean house.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; her son, Bryan A. (Stephanie) Warnell of Athens, AL; her grandson, Henry M. Warnell; two brothers, John Mertel of Lostant and Donald (Ginny) Mertel of Peru; one sister-in-law, Linda Mertel of Mt. Vernon, WA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Mertel.

Pallbearers will be John Mertel, Bill Warnell, Ryan Naas, James Mertel, Logan Johnson, and Philip Nanni.
