Mrs. Martha Mikell

STATESBORO -- Mrs. Martha Mikell, 65, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
Visitation will be Friday, August 26, 2016, from 4-6 p.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Register, Ga.
The homegoing service will be Saturday, August 27, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Interment: church cemetery.
Martha Gainer Mikell was born on June 6, 1951, to the late Bubba and Lilly Gainer in Metter, Ga.
She became a servant of the Lord many years ago and became a member of The Worldwide Church of God, where she served faithfully until death.
She was a graduate of William James High School, class of 1971. Martha departed this life on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at her home.
She is preceded in death by one son, Matthew Joseph; one granddaughter, J'Sharii Palmer; five sisters, Ms. Sarah Cotman, Ms. Julia Mae Davis, Ms. Suzie Mae Evans, Ms. Julia Mae Graves and Ms. Bubba Lee Gainer; and one brother, Mr. Norris Chance.
She leaves to cherish a loving husband, Mr. Joseph Mikell, of 42 years; two devoted daughters, Shannon (Jerry) Palmer of Statesboro, Ga.; Shakedra Mikell of Statesboro, Ga.; three grandchildren, Jer'Ryiiah Palmer, Jer'Mareyn Palmer and Bilal J. Williamson Jr.; four sisters, Ms. Liza Fultcher of Cocoa, Fla.; Ms. Lillie Mae Smith, and Annie Ruth Gainer Griffin of Metter, Ga.; Ms. Mary Jackson of Atlanta, Ga.; and one brother, Mr. Wallace Gainer of Metter, Ga.; five brothers-in-law, eight sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends whom she loved dearly.
