R.I. Rosier Obituary

REGISTER - R.I."Mickey" Rosier, age 71, died Monday after a brief illness. The Duvall County native lived in Jacksonville until his teenage years, then moved to Bulloch County, where he resided until his death. Mickey was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict as a boxer, cook and as an Enlisted General's Aide. Mr. Rosier was a retired painting contractor. He was a member of "AA" for over 30 years. He enjoyed membership with the Smoke House and Saw Mill Groups. Many of those years with "AA" were spent traveling the country as a spokesman for the organization. He was also a member of the Register Baptist Church. Mickey dearly enjoyed cooking, fishing, spending time with friends and family and as a dedicated fan of the Atlanta Braves. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brantley and Beatrice Parrish Rosier; a sister, Mary R. Bunch; and sister-in-law, Joyce Lefebvre.
Survivors include his wife, Colleen Lefebvre Rosier of Register; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tammy and Dennis Remington and Teresa Pollard, all of Jackson, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Dianne Ballard of Griffin and Sophia Detlefsen and her husband, Justin, of Des Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren, Amanda McCord, Lacey Turner and husband, Chris, Michael and Michelle McCord, Laura Remington and Luke Remington, all of Jackson; six great-grandchildren, mother-in-law, Rita Lefebvre of Statesboro; sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Billy Steptoe of Rincon; brother in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Maria Lefebvre, brother-in-law, Wendell Bunch; several aunts, nieces and nephews also survive.
The Funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with the Reverend Jim Correll and Elder Spencer Moore officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jackie Rushing, Paul Lefebvre, Don Suddeth, Brant Bunch, Dan Dimmick and Timmy Rushing.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Smoke House and Saw Mill groups.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Register Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 47, Register, Ga. 30452.
