GUERRA, Abelardo Abelardo "Bay" Fuentes Guerra, age 66, went home to meet our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday morning, January 15, 2019, surrounded by the love of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Secundino and Adelfa Guerra and his brother, Robert "Tippy" Guerra. Bay lived a full life with a generous heart. He was an avid gardener with an amazing green thumb. He nurtured his family with the same care. He loved to go treasure hunting at yard and garage sales and always found the hidden treasures, as he did within each person he encountered. One of Bay's greatest gifts was that of laughter that he so willingly shared with everyone around him. He enjoyed barbecuing, hunting, fishing, coaching and being the life of the party. He was a devoted husband, a committed father to his daughters and son. He enjoyed caring for and being a part of the lives of his five grandchildren. Bay spent his entire work career with Southwestern Bell / AT&T, from high school through a successful career, spanning 43 years. He has been a long time standing member of San Jose Catholic Church in Austin. Surviving members of Bay's family include his wife of 40 years, Gloria Vasquez Guerra; his daughters, Jessica Guerra Gipson and Celeste Guerra-Mireles and her husband, David; his son, Andres Abram Guerra; five grandchildren, Trey Gipson, Garrett Gipson, Julianna Gipson, Mila Mireles, and Abram Mireles; his siblings, Oralia Davila, Eva Barba and her husband, Jesse, and Emma Ortiz, and many loving nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Mission Funeral Home, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, January 21, 2019, at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Ave., Austin, Texas. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 N. IH 35, Pflugerville, Texas.
