Family-Placed Obituary

Amy Michelle Shields Amy Michelle Shields, age 21, of Georgetown, Texas, died Sunday, October 17, 2004, in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born August 17, 1983, in San Angelo, Texas, to Jimmy and Mary Shields. Amy was attending Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, where she was a senior. She was a member of the Student Foundation at Stephen F. Austin State University, Alpha Chi Omega sorority, Stephen F. Austin student government, and Pres. of the SFA Student Dietetic Association. She was also a member of the Phi Upilon Omicron National Honor Society, Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, and a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. Amy was a member of the St. Helen Catholic Church in Georgetown. Surviving Amy are her parents, Jimmy and Mary Shields of Georgetown, TX; two brothers, Matt Shields of Hobbs, NM, Michael Shields of Georgetown; maternal grandparents, Rachael and Elmo Clark of Belton, TX; paternal grandparent, Jean Shields of Nocona, TX; aunt and uncles, Steve Clark of Cleburne, TX, Tom and Linda Clark of Midlothia, TX, Ann and William Daniel of Cleburne, TX, Susie and Mike Akins of Van Alstyne, TX; and 10 cousins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church in Georgetown, Texas, with Father Brian McMaster officiating. A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2004, at 7:00 p.m., with a visitation starting at 6:00 p.m. at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown. Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery in Georgetown. Serving as Pallbearers will be Matt Chilausky, Patrick Garrett, Mark Choate, Edwin Caban, Joe Walker, J.P. Taylor, Brock Restovich, and Eric Walraven. "Our hearts have been touched by an angel here on Earth. Now for all eternity our hearts will be touched by our angel in Heaven.' Memorials may be made to Georgetown Partners In Education, 2211 N. Austin Ave., Georgetown, Texas 78626; or to the Amy Shields Scholarship, c/o the S.F.A. Alumni Association, P.O. Box 6096, Nacogdoches, Texas 75962. Arrangements made by The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, Georgetown, Texas, (512) 869-8888.
