Andrew Brewer Obituary

Andrew Stephenson Brewer Born: November 13, 1972 Deceased: October 5, 2024

Andy, 51, took his last breath on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in a room filled with loved ones following cardiac arrest a month earlier. He fought hard to recover because he had so much to live for. We were not finished with him, but God wanted him.

In life, he was a devoted father to his two children, Dariana 11, and Drew, 9, and was a loving uncle, amazing brother, and incredible son. He leaves his family, extended family, friends and co-workers mourning his loss.

In the 1990's, Andy learned the apartment building business working with his dad, Charles, Uncle Tom, his brother Cass, and his cousin Chad.Brewer. He and Cass early formed Brewer Builders, then renovated and built homes all over Austin. With that success he became a visionary builder and created Legacy MCS with his brother Cass. Many of the contractors with whom he worked mentioned how much they learned from him.

Andy adored his family; he was an accomplished cook who shared large pots of gumbo and chili with friends and family. Andy also loved crawfish, his dogs, and the Cowboys.

Andy was born in Baton Rouge, LA. to native Texan parents, who got to Austin as soon as they could. He attended Barton Hills Elementary, then went through several Eanes ISD schools to graduate from Westlake HS in 1991. Building his way through school, he later graduated from the University of Texas, and yet he rooted for his dad's Aggies.

He was a wonderful guy who never complained, who pitched in, and always did his best. He adored his children and his adopted community of Leander, Texas. He was very content with his life.

He was predeceased by both sets of grandparents, Helen and Charles McCurley, and Weezer and Charlie Brewer; his uncle, Chuck McCurley, and his beloved Duke, Hondo, and Angus.

Left to mourn him are his precious children, Dariana Raelyn Brewer and Andrew Charles Brewer. He leaves the mother of his children, Kim Tolbert Brewer, his brothers Charles Caswell Brewer III (Carrie) and Adam Poynor Brewer (Tenby); his parents Charles C. Brewer, Jr. and Diane McCurley Brewer; his nephews Charles Caswell Brewer, IV (Wells) and Westin Gerow Brewer; a large extended family in Ft. Worth, Central Texas, Aspen CO, and Susie and Jesse Shockley, Kim's parents.

We are so appreciative of the CCU unit of Cedar Park Regional Hospital, and especially, Killian, Kelly, and Michelle, who fought so hard to save him. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Building Fund, or a charity of your choice. A private celebration of his wonderful life will be held at a later date.

Dear Charles and Diane,
We are sad to learn of this.
In the words of 2 Corinthians 5:8, we are "absent from the body and present with the Lord." The body goes to the grave, and the soul and spirit go into the Lord's presence.
1 Corinthians 15:53: "For this corruption must put on incorruption."
John 11:25b: "He who believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live."
You and your family are in our prayers.

I'll always remember you Andrew. You were a good guy. Now you are a guardian angel and I hope there's plenty of mustard for you up there! Mr. Kite's art class at Hill County, cleaning Westlake with the janitor over summer, you falling of the roof and breaking your wrist and the countless Cowboy parties that you so graciously hosted are fond memories of you I hope to never forget. Rest now. You deserve it. Love, Zimmer
