Family-Placed Obituary

Annie Mecom Annie Mecom of Buchanan Dam died Friday, February 18, 2005. This remarkable woman, a true original, was born January 1, 1906, in Dale Texas, to Charles R. Reese and Bettie Bell Tabor Reese. She was married to William W. Witter for 46 years; after his death she was married briefly to E.H. Mecom until his death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Eva Sorency; by grandsons, Robert Fritsche and David Cowe; and by two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by one sister, Judy French of Dallas; and by children, Edgar Witter and wife Nelda of Austin; Webster Witter and wife Mary Ann of Buchanan Dam; Betty Davis and husband Ferrell of Marble Falls; a step-daughter, Darlene Speer of Austin, and honorary children, Sam and Ellen Spiller of Marble Falls and Richard and Elsie McDaniel of Buchanan Dam. Her grandchildren are Rusty Witter of Arlington, Cheri Witter of Austin, Wanda Andreas of Winfield Kansas, Debra Witter of Dallas, Rhonda Fritsche of Laredo, Lori Evans of La Grange; Haicha Russell of Ft. Worth, Andrew Cowe of Kingsland and David Davis of Grand Prairie. Other survivors are her eight great grandchildren Roy Andreas, Jennifer Evans, Joseph Evans, John Cowe, Chelsea Cowe, Johnathan Russell, Alexandra Davis, and David Davis. During her long and eventful life she displayed consistent grace and wit. She enjoyed her ninety-ninth birthday celebration last News Years Day and was active physically, mentally and spiritually until the few weeks of her final illness. Services will be held at the Clements-Wilcox Chapel in Burnet at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 21, 2005, and a graveside service will follow at the Capital Park in Pflugerville at 2:30 p.m. Officiating will be Kevin McDonald. Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet, Texas

Annie was a wonderful and lovely gal who cares about everybody. And, she enjoyed life as well. I'm glad to get to know her at the Tabor Reunion in the 1980's in Dale. God be with you, Annie, until we meet again.

ANNIE WAS A GREAT TALKER, AND DARN COULD SHE FISH. MY MOM DARLENE LOVED HER SO. ANNIE MADE THE BEST ROLLS EVER. MY SON RICKY REALLY ENJOYED SEEING HER WHEN HE WENT TO VISIT GRANDMA AT THE LAKE. GOD BE WITH HER AND MAY SHE TELL MY GRANDPA HI FOR ME. CINDY SOTO
