SMITH, Beatrice Faye Houston Beatrice "Bea" Faye Houston Smith, the third child of O.C. Houston, Sr. and Lue Etta Foster Houston, was born on February 27, 1949 in Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Jessie Houston Doody and O.C. Houston, Jr. Bea graduated with honors from the Original L.C. Anderson High School in 1967, and she continued her education at Prairie View A&M University, where she earned both a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1971 and a Master of Education degree in 1975. Bea accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Austin. She was active in numerous church organizations, including Sunday School and Mission Group. She also served as a deaconess. In 1974, Bea married Donald C. "Smitty" Smith. From this union, the joy of her life, Dr. Angelica "Angel" Smith Robinson, was born in 1978. She leaves to cherish her joyous memories, her loving daughter, Dr. Angel Robinson (husband Cedric Robinson), and three beautiful grandchildren named Caleb, Micah, and Elijah Robinson. She also leaves her loving sister Beverly Houston Piper, beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and countless friends. Visitation will be held on Friday June 8th from 2 6 pm at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday June 9th at 10 am. at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The church address is 4301 Tannehill Lane, Austin, TX 78721.
