Betty Floores Obituary
Family-Placed Obituary
Betty Jean Floores, 79, of Austin went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 19, 2004. Betty was born February 2, 1925, in Port Arthur, Texas. Upon graduation from High School she attended The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and graduated from the School of Nursing in 1947 as a Registered Nurse. Betty raised her three sons and one daughter in Houston, Texas, with her husband George and moved to Austin upon his death in 1976. Betty was a devoted Prayer Warrior, Stephen Minister, Crisis Pregnancy Center Volunteer and Student of God's Word. Her powerful prayers and hugs will be missed here on earth as heaven has gained another hearted soldier. She is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret; her father, William Palmer; and her husband, George Floores . Betty is survived by her sons, Mark and his wife, Maggie of Round Rock, Mike and his wife, Pattie of Houston, Brian and his wife, Jeannine of Austin; daughter, Julie Ritch of Dallas. She is also survived by eight grandsons, Shane, Joel, Zackariah, Zachary, Taylor, Mark Casey, Travis and Matthew. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 23, 2004, at Westlake Bible Church, 9300 Bee Caves Road, 512-263-7701, in Austin, with Mark Floores, eldest son officiating. Memorial donations may be made in Betty's name to a missionary or charity of your choice.

What a delightful and Godly woman. I know there is a wonderful crowd in heaven gathered around her. She will surely be missed here on earth. May God give you peace and comfort at this difficult time.

Our prayers go out to you. Your mother was a dear friend and true servant of the Lord. May God minister to you during this time of grief and saying good-bye. We wish we cold be there but we now live in the Netherlands.
