Rubert's race for commissioner in the 70's first brought us together and Reagan football was a continuation of our relationship. Some people just make a difference in this world an Rubert was a difference maker. He touched the lives of many, many people, young and old. He made this world a brighter and better place. May our prayers and condolences bring a gleam of serenity to all the Cedar family.

After reading of Rubert's life...I was blessed to be introduced to the Ceder family clan in 1975 through Teresa, Rubert's favorite daughter-in-law and Dennis, best son! And just as I came to know Teresa and Dennis , I recognized the apple didn't fall far from the tree in spousal devotion and love after meeting Rubert and Lil. Both kind and full of grace. Although there are many stories to be told of Rubert, one that comes to mind is how Rubert would tend his herd each day. Driving his pickup truck through the pasture, calling his herd with his all to familiar drumming of his hand upon the pickup door, occasional tooting of the horn. I figured spending time with his herd was in part Rubert's way to slow down and refill his soul with the deep things of the Lord. We've all read and know how we need to have a space and time with the Lord. Rubert did that, stepped up, not because he had to, because he wanted to. Rubert loved feeding his herd and as a humble, gentle man, he sowed the seeds of our Lord he received each day and to all that mattered, fed once again. I am thankful for being placed in the path of the Ceder Family. Blessed be our Lord. Peace be with you Rubert and all those you love.

To the family of Rubert Ceder,
We send our most heartfelt condolences to the family. Rubert had known me for 66 years. He was a "one-of-a-kind" individual. There will never be another like him. He was the most caring person that I know. He would help you any way he could. My husband and I became part of his auction company and those were some of the best times of our life. We loved that man like part of our family. May God and all your treasured memories give you peace and comfort in the coming days.

I did not know him personally, I know his Grandson Carl. My prayers go to all the family members, for God to tenderly embrace them and bring them peace. Rubert is in the arms of Jesus and knowing that will bring joy to all hearts. God bless you all as you come together to remember his earthly life.

Rubert will be truly missed! Such a good kind man with a giant heart, he touched so many. He was also the hardest working guy I'd ever known. I'm so proud to have known him my entire life! May he rest in peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. Having known Rubert all my life, I will truly miss seeing him at the coffee shop in the mornings, as much as the times I spent with him and Grandad riding around in the country. I have always enjoyed visiting with him, and hearing the same stories over and over and over. Truly, he was a good man. All of my family's love and prayers for your family.

I had the pleasure of knowing Rubert when we both worked for the Travis Co. Tax Office in the mid 1950's. I fondly recall the conversations with him at lunch and coffee breaks. He was a good Swede and my sincere condolences to all.

As an Ag Teacher and FFA Advisor in Elgin for 13 years I knew Rubert as a true servant to our community and youth. He was always willing to give his time and services whenever needed. He helped with our youth auction and raised no telling how much money for our youth to attend college and continue their life aspirations. In 2009 Elgin FFA honored Rubert with the Honorary Chapter Farmer Award. Rubert was truly a servant to all. Our thoughts are with the family.

I will miss seeing his smiling face when he would come into our store, I will miss getting his cup of Decaf for his wife. I will no longer be able to have that cup ready and get his peanut butter crackers or his bag of Lay's potato chips. He will surely be missed at 7-11. My deepest condolences to his family.

I feel such a loss. He has meant so much to me in my life, and to my family. He has taught me so much and been such a Godly example of one who is bold in His faith. I know that as we weep that he is in such a joyful environment and would want us to know that. He would want us to make sure we have our ticket (that we have accepted Jesus as our savior) so that when our time comes, we will join him. His was a life well-lived, and I know he heard Jesus say "Well done thy good and faithful servant".
