Cindy Deane Obituary

Cindy Deane, resident of Dale, TX passed away on October 23, 2024. She was the youngest child, born on December 19, 1953, to Ernest and Virginia Barnard.

In 1965, Cindy became a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Austin where she was baptized and confirmed. She attended the University of Texas in Austin, Concordia College and Austin Community College. On October 19, 1974, she married Joe Deane at her home church Christ Lutheran. Cindy and Joe just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last week. As Cindy expressed before her passing, "Joe was the joy of her life."

Cindy was president of Walther League, president of Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML), a teller, a financial secretary and her last employment was with the State of Texas as a supervisor in production control for the Texas Department of Health and Human Services. She retired after 30 years, loving every minute of her career.

It was just recently; after living in Louisiana for 30 years, they moved back to the Lockhart area to be closer to family.

Cindy is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Ernest Gerald Barnard, Charles Odom Barnard, and Harold James Bernard; her sister; Ellen Gayle Ogden and her son Joe Forrest Deane III. She is survived by her husband; Joe Forrest Deane Jr.; grandchildren; Shea Lea Deane and Kelsey Marie Deane; great-grandchildren, Amelia Bombard and Brooklyn Bombard and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at McCurdy Funeral Home from 11AM-1PM with funeral services beginning at 1PM. A burial following to Kyle Cemetery with the pallbearers being: Donnie Young, Bill Young, Frank Barnard, Jerimah Barnard Aurelio Torres and Christian Torres.
