Dave Schmidt, Jr. On Sunday morning, Dave Schmidt, Jr. passed peacefully away to the loving arms of his Lord and Savior with his wife, Cheryl and daughter, Nicki, and his canine companion Sophie in his arms. Mr. Schmidt was born on April 8, 1938 in Palestine, Texas to Dave and Pauline McKenzie Schmidt. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cheryl Ann (Ebershoff) Schmidt of Georgetown; daughter, Nicki (Chris) Davis of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Pat (Larry) Sullivan of Mc Kinney, Texas and Virginia (Richard) Barrett of McKinney, Texas; and a cousin, Linda (Frank) Dufhorne of Tyler, Texas; and his loyal and much loved dog, Sophie. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dave was retired from A.G. Edwards where he worked as a Financial Advisor for nearly 25 years. He graduated from The University of Texas in 1960 and was a faithful follower of all UT sports for nearly 50 years. He was an avid tennis player and was a USTA official for the Southwest Conference and the Big XII Conference. Dave was honorably discharged from the United States Army National Guard in 1964. The Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 11: 00 a.m. at Central Christian Church, 1110 Guadalupe, Austin, Texas. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made in his name to the Central Christian Church Restoration Fund, 1110 Guadalupe, Austin, Texas or the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis, 1659 Branham Lane Suite F # 227, San Jose, CA, 95118-5226. Visitation was held on Monday December 21, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home, Georgetown, Texas.
