JOHNSON, David L.

David L. Johnson, 77, of Rosebud, died Sunday, February 23, 2014 at his residence. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cyclone. Rev. Walter Matus officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born January 31, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Ok to Victor and Louise Farrimond Johnson. He grew up in Creedmore and graduated from Austin Travis High School. He served in the National Guard and married Barbara Martinka on October 24, 1970. He retired as Battalion Chief of the Austin Fire Department after 30 years of service and moved to Rosebud in 2009. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, The Onion Creek Masonic Lodge AF & AM # 220 in Austin, and the Antique Tractor and Engine Association.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Johnson of Rosebud

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church of charity of choice.

Visitation begins at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.
