Dana, Harrison, and Jordyn. I am so sorry to hear about your father's passing. You have my deepest sympathies. Keiffer was a great man and I know he was an awesome father and husband. He was such a strong person and I will never forget how he helped "push" me through the Houston Marathon back in 2002. David, I never would have made it without you. I'm sorry that we fell out of touch these past couple of years. I love you brother with all my heart and I will miss you tremendously.
Dana, I can't even imagine what you are going through, but if you have the time please get in touch with me so that I know you are all right. If there is anything you or your family needs, please don't hesitate to ask. God bless you in your time of need.

To the Keys,

I first met David at Spicewood Elementary school. I remember David as being a great athlete and, perhaps more importantly, a great sport. Though he usually jumped higher, ran faster, and made better catches, he never acted as though he thought he was better. David left lasting impressions in my mind of what sportsmanship is all about.

David will always be part of my youth. I have countless memories of time spent with David listening to music, avoiding homework, chasing girls, and simply doing things that kids do and enjoy together. We lose a part of ourselves when we lose a childhood friend, and we are all worse off without David. David, we will miss you greatly.

It was with great sadness that I read about David's death. We were good friends back at Spicewood Elementary and we would play sports (football, soccer, baseball) pretty much every day during recess. David was one of the best players and almost always one of the first guys picked when we'd pick teams. I have vivid memories of some of our best "plays"...

We had fewer classes together in Junior High and High School, but we stayed friends and he played drums with me and some other friends a few times - and he rocked!

He was very talented, a fierce competitor but a good sport on the playground and he will be missed.

I'm so sorry to hear about David. I didn't know David, but I know of his parents from church (GHBC). I read the obituary and am at a loss for words. You have lost a son, a husband, a daddy and a brother and it must be so very hard. Know that I am sorry and that you all that are left are thought of and prayed for. May our Lord be the Comforter that you need. Love in Jesus to you all ~

As a former soccer player at Rice, I wanted to offer my heart-felt thoughts and prayers. I know that I speak for myself and my teammates when I say that we will remember Dave fondly - his dry sense of humor, his love for sports and the uncanny ability to make you feel better when injured. Our deepest condolences.

Dear Key family,
You have my deepest sympathy in your loss of David. Although I did not know him, I know the emptiness that everyone feels. Having lost my 35 year old son three years ago who also left a young family, all I can tell you at this time is that I pray that God sends you His grace and peace. As bad as this seems, the good memories always surface to the top if you let them.

Norman-
I went to UT at the same time you did and now work for Baker -Aicklen.
