David Patrick Obituary

David Haskew Patrick, age 83, passed away peacefully the morning of August 10, 2022 at his home after a short battle with lung cancer. David, and his twin brother, the late Dr. Donald Patrick, were born on August 28, 1938 in San Antonio, Texas to Lorena and Rev. Wood Patrick.

David graduated from Kingsville A&I where he excelled academically as well as athletically for 4 years as a standout forward on his college basketball team. After earning a master's degree, he continued his education at The University of Texas Austin earning another masters degree and working on his doctorate. David was a beloved and well-respected teacher and basketball coach at San Antonio Marshall, La Porte High School, and Pleasanton High School. In 1971 he began his dream job as a teacher and head varsity basketball coach at Austin High.

David was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother, and brother-in-law, Jack Jordon. He is survived by his wife, Annette, and their children, Eric and his wife Katie, Joshua and his wife Kyla, and Matthew and his wife Martha, and his grandchildren, Claire, Connor, and Rue. He is also survived by his sister Ann Jordan and sister-law Dr. Carolyn Biebas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial to celebrate David's life will be held on November 19, 2022 starting at 2:00 pm. All family, friends, former students and basketball players are invited to attend. Please phone 512 496 6464 for more information.

David knew how much he was loved by his family. His love, sense of humor, and companionship will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
