David Meredith Robinson

1942 - 2024

David Meredith Robinson, Jr., born November 13, 1942. Dad graduated from A.N. McCallum High, Class of 1961. He joined the United States Navy, and graduated from Fire Control Technicians School at the U.S. Naval School in Bainbridge, Maryland. Following that, he worked on the USS Norton Sound while it was dry-docked in Baltimore, Maryland, and was part of the June 20, 1964 recommissioning of the Norton Sound for weapons research. Dad served as a member of the United States Navy Reserves through the late 1980s. He taught vocational arts among other subjects for Austin Independent School District and loved ballroom dancing, which he also taught for many years. He is survived by daughter Kimmy Robinson, son-in-law Giovanni Washington-Wright, granddaughter Audrey Layne Washington-Wright, grandsons Crutcher Storm Washington-Wright, and Gael Gael Gavin-Mathias Washington-Wright.
