David Woolsey, 80, of Belton, formerly of Austin, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015, after a valiant fight with cancer.

David retired from the City of Austin Fire Department as Lieutenant, after 30 years of service. In his spare time David's greatest joy was construction and repair. His knowledge and expertise was undeniable.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife Dena Woolsey of Belton, his son Elton Woolsey of Austin, sisters Mary Sumner of San Antonio and Nancy Fetter of Richmond, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Punit Chadah and the entire staff at Texas Oncology-South Austin, everyone at Providence Hospice - Waco, especially his nurse Ronnie McKnight, and the staff at Meridian-Temple. We will forever be grateful to all who cared for David with kindness and compassion.
