Dennis A. "Denny" Fahrenthold

Dennis Ann "Denny" (Wheeler) Fahrenthold, 82, of Bastrop, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 10, 2022.

Denny was born in Austin, Texas on January 17, 1940, the daughter of the late Frankie (Gist) Peterson and Joseph Weldon Wheeler. She grew up in Austin, and attended high school at Austin High, graduating in 1958. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, earned a Masters' Degree in business from St. Mary's College in Moraga, CA and was certified as a medical technologist from Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Mississippi. Denny married Paul Fahrenthold on June 20, 1960 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Austin, Texas. Together they raised two sons, Ben and Michael, and a daughter, Margaret.

Denny volunteered at St. Mark's Medical Center and was a long-time member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority where she volunteered her time as director of the scholarship committee. She was also a member of Frisch Auf and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Denny's Celebration of life will be held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Grange on March 4 at 10AM. Her husband, Paul, sons, Ben and Michael, and daughter, Margaret, will host a reception at the Frisch Auf Valley Country Club immediately after the celebration.
