Don ROLAND Obituary
Don L. Roland, 78, of Georgetown, TX, formerly of Sierra Vista, AZ; Manhattan, KS; Heidelberg, GE; and Corpus Christi, TX peacefully went to meet his Lord and Savior on May 2, 2014.
Don was born on January 27, 1936 in Ada, Oklahoma to Cecil and Alberta Bickel Roland. He is survived by his wife, Mary Esther Roland of Georgetown; son, David (Anne) Roland of Houston; daughters, Donna (Ken) Walker of Dallas and Karen Roland of San Antonio; his grandchildren, Matthew and Jared Roland of Houston; Kyle, Mark, and Brett Walker of Dallas; brother, Neal (Marilyn) Roland of Jacksonville, FL; mother-in-law, Mary D. Martinez of Corpus Christi; sisters-in-law, Mary Elia Martinez of El Paso, Mary Edna (Joe) Guerrero of Missouri City, Mary Evelyn (Gary) Aguilar of Portland, Mary Elva (Joe) Garcia and Mary Ellen (Arturo) Gonzalez of Edinburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Don graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an MBA. He retired as Deputy Chief of Staff for Engineering , U.S. Army Depot Systems Command, Chambersburg, PA following service as the Civilian Executive Assistant/Deputy Commander, Corpus Christi Army Depot, Corpus Christi, TX.
Simply, but so powerfully stated, Don was a good man. He served God every day in the exemplary way he lived his life. He loved his wife and family and was a true and loyal friend. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday May 7, 2014 at The Worship Place, 811 Sun City Blvd, Georgetown, Texas 78633 with Dr. E. M. Hay officiating.

Don was truly an outstanding individual. He was the first person that I met when I reported to the Depot in 1986. I enjoyed working with him for almost four years. May God take care of him. Am sure all that knew him will miss him.
