Drew West Obituary

Drew West passed away peacefully on September 14, 2023, with his granddaughter, Heather, by his side.

Drew was born in Austin on October 16, 1943. He was the son of George S. West and Robie Shirley West. He has one younger brother, Dwight West, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his true sweetheart and wife, Jeanine. He is also survived by his five children, Coy West, Nathan West, Colin West, Kim Correa and Jennifer Brennan. Drew was blessed with nine grandchildren, whom he adored, and one great grandson, with whom he had a special bond.

Drew was a true Austinite, he was born, raised in, and loved the city. He was also a loyal Longhorn fan. After his graduation from UT in 1967, he remained a true fan of the orange and white. Hook'Em!

Drew began his career in human resources. He traveled over the country recruiting young college students. His biggest assets were his kindness and goodness. He never met a stranger, and, he had the best smile!

His retirement years were spent enjoying trips to Colorado and Yellowstone with Jeanine by his side. His trip to Europe with his longtime friends was a highlight.

His best time was spent at the ranch in Burnet County. Oh, how he loved being in the Texas Hill Country. Many happy celebrations and holidays were spent at the ranch house. Also, a lot of front porch sitting!

He was the best husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed forever. Until we meet again, our sweet Drew.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 7, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home on Parkcrest in Austin. Please come with your best stories about this special and wonderful man. Drew would love to see everyone in Longhorn attire.
