Duane Lebens Obituary

We regret to announce the passing of Duane Ronald Lebens of Austin, TX. However, half of his heart remained in Shakopee, Minnesota, where he was born and raised in a large loving family with many friends.

Duane passed at the age of 66, on Saturday March 25th, 2023, surrounded by family, while professing his love and gratitude for his loved ones. Duane fought the long arduous battle with the brutal aftereffects of COVID 19.

Duane is survived by his loving wife, Jeanine Lebens, his son and daughter-in-law, Jake and Cortney Lebens, daughter and son-in-law Kaylen and Matthew James, his two grandsons Rhett Michael James and Nolan Duane James. Along with his sisters, Judy Krohn, Jan Link, Sandy Furrer, Sharon Marks and brother, Ron Lebens.

Duane, also known as Big D, worked for Covert Ford for over 30 years generating hundreds of valued friends and respected confidants.

Duane was a man of his word and a trusted friend. He always saw the best in people. His hand was always extended to others or encouraging them with a pat on the back. He was a highly respected and honorable man, not always easy, but always fair. Duane's motto was, don't form an opinion on a situation until you hear both sides of the story.

Duane was an excellent athlete, who loved everything about sports from, coaching, watching, and playing, he knew it all. He also enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing with his family in Minnesota and Texas.

Duane was always happiest when he was with his family, whether he was at a fish fry in Minnesota, or on his pontoon boat on lake Travis, family always came first.

Duane's family will be honored for you join them in the celebration of Duane's life held on Saturday, April 15th, 2023, at 3:00 pm. Located at Cook Waldon Chapel of the Hills on 9700 Anderson Mill Rd.
