Edward Solter Obituary

(09/24/2003) Edward H. Solter Jr., of Austin, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, September 20, 2003. Ed was preceded in death by a daughter, Sara Jayne Solter, who was killed by a drunk driver. Ed was born June 30, 1929, in Huntington, West Virginia, the only child of Edward H. Solter Sr. and Ruth Farrell Kinner. He attended High School at Kentucky Military Institute. He received a BBA from the University of Nebraska and a Masters from the University of Southern California. He served his Country for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired in 1976 with the rank of Major. Ed was currently employed at the U.S. Department of Labor (OSHA), as a Compliance Safety and Health Officer where he worked the past 27 years. Ed was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jennifer J. Solter; his son, Edward H. Solter III and wife, Janet Solter; his daughters, Rebecca Solter and Lori Freer and husband, William T. Freer of Plano; grandchildren, Kara Struhall, Brandon Struhall, Jimmy Freer and Eddie Freer. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the St. Albans Episcopal Church, 11819 IH-35 South. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Albans Episcopal Church Building Fund at 11819 IH-35 South, Manchaca, Texas 78652-0368.
