Eric Walz was my friend, and a great man. I was in a band with him some years back, him on trombone, me on bass guitar. We had a lot of fun playing music together. Eric Walz was a music teacher. Practically all he ever wanted to talk about was how much he loved teaching and how much he loved his students. Plenty of kids were inspired to become musicians because of Eric Walz. I'm going to keep using his full name because he should be REMEMBERED. The obituary mentions that Eric Walz was a strong believer in equality and justice. After the band ended, I got heavily involved in direct action and activism. Eric Walz was always supportive of that, and would always talk with me about what was going on with that and what I was doing. Eric Walz was a great man. Taken FAR too soon. I hope I can find some way to honor his memory.
