Geraldine Fleming Obituary

Geraldine Mary Fleming Geraldine Mary Fleming was born on September 2, 1916, in Austin, Texas. She attended Palm School and graduated from Austin High School in 1936. While at Austin High, she was active in the Student Council, several literary societies, and was editor of the 1936 yearbook. The made their home in Austin where he was head basketball and assistant football coach at St. Edward's University. After Pearl Harbor, she made a home for her family at several Navy bases on the east and west coasts as she awaited the return of her husband from the Pacific. For many years, Gerry worked as a bookkeeper with the University of Texas Athletic Department. She was especially proud of her association with the Longhorns during the Darrell Royal years, and she rarely missed a game. She considered herself a true longhorn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Rosa Garza; all her siblings; and her beloved husband, Ed Fleming. She is survived by all her children, Ed Fleming Jr., Margaret Rose Fleming and her husband Mike, Charles Fleming and wife Virginia, Benita Fleming and Kevin Fleming and wife Anita.
