Gilbert MINDIETA Obituary
Gilbert Mindieta, 50, of Austin, Texas went on to be with the Lord Thursday, March 6, 2014. Gilbert will be remembered as a loving son, brother, father and grandfather to those who loved him. His greatest joy and accomplishments were his daughters and grandchildren.
Gilbert was born September 21, 1963 in Austin, Texas to Natalio and Matilde Mindieta. Growing up, he was active in sports which included tennis and softball. He was one of eight children. His hobbies included being outdoors, fishing, spending time with his family and helping others. Although he is gone, he will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his father, Natalio Mindieta.
He is survived by his mother, Matilde Mindieta; brothers, Albert Mindieta, Eddie Mindieta; sisters, Anita Mindieta (Jose Luis), Linda Rodriguez, Stella Pratt (Paul), Genny Sepeda (Jimmy), Yolanda Herrera (John); daughters, Mary Helen Garcia (Primitivo), Alison Rodriguez (Joel), Francisca Hernandez (Antonio); grandchildren, Madison Garcia, Madilynne Garcia, Mason Garcia, Ava Rodriguez, Makayla Hernandez, Joel Jacob Rodriguez, Gisella Hernandez.
Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Angel Funeral Home, 1600 S. First Street. Mass will be at St. Julia Church, 3010 Lyons Rd., on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m, followed by burial at Assumption Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Christopher House and Seton Hospital and Doctor Srihari Vegiraju, MD.

Some friendships are thicker than blood. Childhood friends together we build castles in our childhood dreams. A heart so pure that never knows hate, nor anger, nor envy, nor greed. Wishing each other success and promises never to forget, if fate made us separate. Not every story is the same, some childhood friendship lasts, some die; some are forgotten by time. However, as we get old, sitting alone we will always remember those childhood friends and childhood things. Without noticing that you are smiling alone reminiscing the past while nodding your head as if agreeing that, childhood days are once the best part of our Lives.

Growing up in a large family down Ledesma Road in the '70s. We were childhood family friends. Our family had 3 girls and 5 boys and your family had 5 girls and 3 boys. And with that it made us fit together. Remembering how young, innocent and daring we all were. We had great times together. To Natalio and Matilde Mindieta and kids from Frank and Modesta Matamoros and kids. We will always treasure the memories and times we shared. My our Lord bless us.
