Mr.Heath was my Jr and Senior class art teacher. I was so encouraged and he offered opportunities using art and different medium & techniques. I am 68 and still have fond memories of Mr. Heath. He had such a quiet patience as he taught me new skills. ?

Mr. Heath was my tennis coach at BHS, where I made All County my senior year in 1977. Mr. Heath gave a speech about my achievement at the awards assembly in front of the football team I had deserted in 10th grade to play tennis for Mr. Freifelder. That speech probably had my unemotional father in quiet tears that the world didn't see. I didn't realize that Mr. Heath played tennis, hockey, and golf, the 3 sports that my family lived daily at various times in our lives. My wife and my brother's wife didn't have formal training as artists but both are avid members of the vibrant Austin artists community. Had I known Mr Heath was in Austin and in hospice I surely would have visited, his tenure as my tennis coach was memorable, and his graciousness in coaching the team to keep the sport alive at Baldwin High School will not be forgotten. I'm so sorry my wife and brother's wife never got to meet the real artist I knew who was living such a short distance from me in Round Rock.

Mr. Heath was such a stellar example of a teacher and a guiding light to those of us kids that dreamed of being artists. My time in his class was the most memorable from Baldwin HS and why my sole pursuit was in the arts. Gordon, you'll be missed, but never forgotten. Rest in peace. ?

Gordon Heath was my favorite HS teacher. He saw more in my artistic potential than I realized was there. After I graduated, I ran into him a couple of times in town or while riding my bike. Gordon had a great twinkle on his eyes and a sweet playful smile. He was a gifted artist and had a way to bring out creativity in his students.
I will never forget Gordon Heath or the classes I had with him. Thank you Mr. Heath.

Mr Heath was my art teacher at Baldwin HS (graduated 1980), and he was always one of my favorite teachers and my favorite class. I wasn't the greatest artist, but I loved being creative and he was always so encouraging! He was such a genuinely caring teacher, always smiling and always KIND:-)
I only wish I knew he was living in Austin, as it would have been such a pleasure to visit him and reminisce about our time in Baldwin!
He will be missed.
May his memories bring peace to all those who were lucky enough to know him!???
