Hal was my brother and I miss him every day. I have read thru all wonderful words and memories left by his friend and family and tears of joy just flowed once more. I knew Hal my whole life but didn´t know he had such as extended family as all of you. Than you so much for sharing with us your sincere feeling for my brother. We will see him again in Heaven and I can´t wait for that day. God bless. All of you and your families. If all Hal represented is just passed on by all of us, his memory will live on forever. From his family to all of you just know he was always the joy and fun light in our lives. The day I went in for his test, for some reason, most all of his brothers and sisters were there. I looked over the head of his bed and we smiled and said to me, see ya later, and told me as he always did in his funny face, I wuv you sis. Never will for get that. Love to all of you. God bless you and remember, Attitude is everything, and I believe that .

My disabled son was the first let into ROTC. He could not complete the book work. He had the heart and wore his uniform with pride. Mr Lamkin and Aaron took time to grow, incorporate, and understand. We love our Country. Not all people that do are Engineers but should be included. Thankful for forward thinking of a boy that Loves USA. Hugs to Heaven Sgt Aaron!

Many may follow, but none will fully fill the void left by MSgt. Aaron. Great men can truly come in small packages, he proved that. I'm glad my son had the chance to meet him, even if he will never remember. I'm deeply sorry for your loss.

MSgt. Aaron was one of a kind. He put up with so much that the cadets dished out and still cared about them no matter what. He gave them guidance, respect, and a shoulder to lean on when it was needed. He was loved by many and will always be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. To the Aaron family, we appreciate you sharing him with us, he was a true role model for the cadets who went through his class over the years and they are that much better for having known him.

As Hal's cousin I was so very blessed to know that he knew the Lord as his Saviour. There is such comfort in knowing that he is with the Lord and that one day we will laugh and spend time together.

I will indeed miss my brother but God has given me such a peace with his passing that I choose not to morn his passing but instead rejoice in knowing he is with Jesus. I choose to remenice on the lives he touched while on this earth and know those lifes will impact others. Those touched by Hal will keep his legacy living on and on. When we are all in heaven Hal will then know how many lives he touched. My brother; so giving, so humble and so loved.

Dear Aaron Family, I just want to let you know how very special Sgt was to my daughter and to us as well. He was always there for any of us when there was a need. I treasure the times that we spent in board meetings, on the Lex trips, and other events with JROTC. Sgt was always there for Sammy, and she considered him the most important mentor she's ever had. God Bless Sgt Aaron and to all of his family, may you find peace in the incredible legacy Sgt left behind. We will always love him and remember him.

I can't thank Sergeant Aaron's family enough for sharing him with the cadettes all those years. Hearing the stirring and heartfelt testimonies to him at the Memorial Service at the PAC on February 13th made me realize how he has touched and improved the lives of so many students. He couldn't have done that without the support of his family members at home.

A person like Sgt. Aaron is a rare thing in the world today where so many people have an attitude of "what's in it for me". If only a handful of students end up being givers like he was, the world will be a better place. Colonel Lamkin is another great leader, and thank goodness we still have him there to carry on his best friend's philosophy of "Attitude is everything!"

Sgt. Aaron Family,
I want you to know how much Sgt. Aaron meant to me, and my family. I greatly appreciated Sgts. willingness to talk with me, when I did not know what to do next to help my kids get through their personal choices they made. You and Col. were GREAT in giving "neutral perspective" on the issues at hand. I will always remember you saying, "call any time, there is always a solution to any problem". He so much loved and truly believed in his cadets, and us parents. Thank you so much for sharing Sgt. Aaron with us, and God bless you all! May all your fond memories of Sgt. bring you peace, joy, and sustaining will power to love life to it's fullest, as he would have wanted.

If there is one thing that I should have said to Sgt Aaron, it's thank you. He is one of the only reasons that I was able to go to Mcneil high school even if it was for the short time that I was there and I never said thank you to him for that and every thing else that he did for every one.

He loved every one of his students and gave them his trust the moment that he met them, even if the didn't really deserve it.

I'm greatly honored to be able to say that I knew Sgt Aaron and I'm very sorry to those who didn't have the chance to meet him.

May his mind, body, and soul rest in peace forever more.

I will never forget my first encounter with Sargent Aaron. It was the night that 8th graders went to the high school to see what was offered. I was standing at the table looking at all that ROTC had to offer. He made my son and I feel very comfortable and answered all of our questions. That continued thru the 4 years that my son was in ROTC. Two of those years my son, Allan, was schooled at home while be treated for a brain tumor. Sargent Aaron stayed in touch with our family and was concerned with how Allan was doing. I believe that Sargent Aaron's motto helped keep Allan going. Attitude is everything!!! And he will live on for a long time in the hearts of the cadets and parents past and present.
We will miss him.

An angel named Hal was sent home Friday. I know that he is smiling down upon this world. I only knew Sargent Aaron approximately 12 or so hours. You see, I am the father of one Hal's freshman JrROTC members. I volunteered at some of the events this past fall and observed how well Sarge and Colonel Lampkin treated and embraced our children. It was obvious that Sargent Aaron loved teaching and just hanging around the kids. My son truly admired, respected and cared for Sargegent Aaron in this short time. Sarge, I am told was a simple man, just a simple ole Angel who by the grace of God I am glad to have meet. God Bless the Aaron family and May the Grace of God be with all of you.

I was honored to know MSgt Aaron as both a parent of two cadets, Melinda & Kevin Caudle, and as a co-worker. I cannot recount the times I saw young people crying on his shoulder or standing at attention when the love became tough. He thought about EACH young person on a very personal basis & wanted nothing more than EXCELLENCE from each one. The US lost a courageous soldier, Round Rock ISD lost an exceptional educator, ... and my children, now adults and parents themselves, lost a wonderful friend and mentor!

Papa Smurf, you were loved!!!

To the Family of Hal Aaron: You are in my thoughts and prayers as you face this most difficult time in your life.

I was involved with JROTC for several years helping to establish the Booster Club, while my son, Justin and daughter, Stacy were Cadets in Texas 934. Hal always had a smile on his face, and a warm greeting for me. Hal helped my children through their high school years, and I attribute a portion of their success as adults, to his guidance. Many children became better adults do to the caring and warmth he so generously shared with all who knew him.

The pain you are feeling is yours alone, but the grief of Hal's loss will be felt by many.

MSgt Hal Aaron was a gift to the McNeil Community. He brought strength, leadership, and an infectious smile to the students and citizens of Round Rock ISD. He will be sorely missed! I believe he would have wanted all of us to remember him the way he was the last time we saw him...smiling, reaching out to others, and serving his school and country... Let us gather now around his family and offer our support during this time of loss. That's the very least we can do.

for those of you who knew him...

as you got up this morning you knew he might not come back

as you sat in class you knew he might not come back

when you heard the PA announcement you knew

when you walked into the corps room you knew

then finally when colonel said the words... "Sgt. Aaron passed away this morning at 0730" you knew he wasn't coming back

as you cried on the shoulder of friends you thought of all the things you should have said to him

as you watched others cry you remembered all the times you spent with him, even if it was a "tuck in your shirt mister!" or a "you need a haircut"

MSgt. Hal Aaron we will all remember you and the things that you did. You will continue to inspire us even after you're gone.

WE LOVE YOU SGT. AARON. 1953-2007

Humility, patience, and integrity are values that Sergeant Aaron lived by and instilled in me and other cadets at McNeil. I hope that his family members and friends are comforted by the warm memories of him that will live on in the hearts of so many of us who knew him. Sergeant Aaron was a great teacher and mentor, with a strong sense of discipline and a great sense of humor. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to be his student.
