Harry Jedlicka Obituary

Harry Donald Jedlicka, Jr Harry Donald Jedlicka, Jr. (Donnie), 49, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013 surrounded by family and friends in Austin, Texas. He was born on July 11, 1963 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Harry Donald and Gail Sue Holt Jedlicka. Donnie grew up in Point Comfort, Texas and graduated from Calhoun High School in Port Lavaca in 1981. After high school, he joined the Navy where he served our country proudly. Donnie was preceded in death by his father Harry Donald Jedlicka and his mother Gail Sue Hill. He is survived by his sisters and their husbands Tammy and Ruben Hernandez of Port Lavaca, Kim and Steve Placker of Austin, Wendy and Frank Mitchell of Florida, Amanda and Joe Bryce of Atlanta, and brother John Wesley Jedlicka of Knoxville. He also leaves behind a dear friend, Ed Knaak, that cared for him for many years, as well as nephews Davy Pina and Aaron Pina, and nieces Capri Hernandez, Cydney Placker, and Raegan Placker. Donnie...or Harry as he preferred to be called later in life, was loved by family and friends. Harry was a kind and caring person, full of conviction and passionate about sharing the love of Christ. He made many friends over the years and will be greatly missed. He was a talented singer and loved to play with and care for his cats...who will also miss him. He drew great comfort and support from his friends at Western Trails and his church family. A memorial service will be held at Sunrise Community Church, 4430 Manchaca Road in Austin at 11 am on Thursday, Feb. 21. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at a reception at the church following the service.
