Aunt Hazel was the family historian with pictures and a great memory! I would have family items with no history and call her - I would ask her if she would like to take a ride down memory lane! She was always happy to help - I have a few dessert dishes of hers - called for a ride - she had the full history that included a perfect discription - story including herself, Mama and Papa . She brought these around the time I was born! That's a great memory ! We love you and miss you Aunt Hazel !

One of my fondest memories of Aunt Hazel is her concern for our safety by ALWAYS making sure we had our seat belts on before driving away - she checked them herself most times - and that the car doors were locked if it was just the girls & myself! Then years later I learned she did not like nor wear her seat belt for a long time! Her love and concern for the safety of her family - non can compare. A very special lady.

A great example of a truly remarkable and loving woman! Aunt Hazel set the bar high for Nelson women. I was truly blessed to call her my godmother. So many special memories to hold dear. I hope I grow up to be half the woman she was!

Aunt Hazel always had a smile on her face, always inquired about you and your family. She was beautiful, inside and out. She is missed!
