Jackson ALEXANDER Obituary

ALEXANDER,
Jackson Rush
Jackson Rush Alexander, 10, beloved son of Matt and Jennifer Alexander of Cedar Park, passed away on March 4, 2016 at Dell Children's Medical Center. Jackson was born in Austin, Texas on June 2, 2005. Jackson was a magical child with an enchanting personality, a smile that lit up a room, and a knack for funny quips or comment beyond his years. He was a source of immeasurable joy to his adoring parents, extended family, and family friends. He was a source of adoration, hero worship and frustration to his younger brother Daniel, who will miss him more than words can describe. He had many friends who will remember him always.

Jackson's prodigious imagination was at its best at play: he defended castles from invaders, led the primary siege during Nerf gun battles, and, according to Daniel, was the best at building houses in Minecraft. He was a tough kid who took adversity in stride; he was a black belt who could break boards with multiple parts of his body, an athletic swimmer, and a talented junior golfer. Jackson showed an early aptitude for the piano and could play many favorites by ear. When paired with his always quick wit, Jackson's love of reading - especially Percy Jackson books - often led to wonderful Greek mythology-inspired puns or silly knock-knock jokes that kept his friends in stitches. He was a world-class photo bomber and loved to interact and play with young children.

Jackson had recently transferred to Cypress Elementary from Fern Bluff Elementary and had quickly made a place for himself in his new school home. His natural intelligence was captivated most by math and science.

Jackson is preceded in death by his father Matt and lives on in the hearts of his mother Jennifer and brother Daniel, his maternal grandparents Howard and Linda McCollum of Houston, his paternal grandparents John and Suzanne Alexander of Fort Worth, his great-grandmother Mildred McAllister, his uncle Mike Alexander, an extensive family including many cousins, great-aunts, and great-uncles, and many, many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the African Children's Choir or First Tee Austin. Arrangements are under the care of Beck Funeral Home and memorial services are being privately coordinated by the family. www.beckchapels.com

Hey Jackson,
You might not remember me but just in case I'm Kieran Ramnath. I used to live in Austin and we were friends in preschool. I've had a really tough year and finding out that we lost you nine months ago just made me lose it completely. I will always remember you.

Jackson you are and will always be My Simons BEST friend! You were two peas in a pod! You truly brought out the best in each other, it was always a pleasure when your daddy brought you by to have a play date with Simon. I absolutely loved it when you came over . You filled our household with laughter and family warmth. I would sometimes observe you boys and feel so proud that my son had such a friend! You tried to always leave small footprints in our household

you had impeccable manners I remember once it was time to say good bye you looked like you had been crying . I was so worried And I asked you what was wrong. Your reply with a big smile " nothing I'm just allergic to dogs"

neither you or your sweet father said anything . You were well mannered to the point of your detriment . You were certainly wise beyond your years ! You and your beloved father will sorely be missed.

" One day, a son asked his father , 'why is it always the best people who die? The father answered , Son , if you were in a meadow , which flowers would you pick ? The worst ones or the best ones?'"

Death leaves heartache no one can heal , love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Until we meet again
Simon and Claudia
